Iraq on Wednesday witnessed a new wave of acts of violence that left several killed and wounded in various areas while political efforts continue to form the next Iraqi government.
In Balad, 90 Km to the north of Baghdad, the American army said that one gunmen and two women and one child were killed during clashes with gunmen. He added in a statement that the American bombardment targeted a house in the town suspected to shelter al-Qaida members and that it sought the help of the air force and the land force after confronting an enemy force.
For its part, the Iraqi police indicated that 11 persons from the same family including 6 children and three women were killed in an American air bombardment against al-Ishaqi area.
The police added that one suicide bomber riding a bike attacked one Iraqi police vehicle in Baqouba city to the north of the capital and this resulted in killing two civilians and injuring other six including women and children.
