Greek president in Libya

Libyan leader Muammar al-Qathafi received Monday evening Greek President Karolos Papoulias in his visit to Libya on common relations and Mediterranean region issues.
JANA reported yesterday that Papoulias chose Libya to be the first African and Arab country to visit after his inauguration as a president "due to the global political status of Libya because of role of the Leader Muammar al-Qathafi with whom he said has friendship dating back to 1980s and this friendship has important positive effects."
