Saddam's trial continues today

The special court to trying the former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and seven of his aides submitted its sessions after it had listened to testimonies of three accused men in al-Dajil case under the charge of killing 148, which was in response to an attack on Saddam Hussein's procession at the beginning of the 1980s in al-Dajil town. This trial is to convene today.
During the events of session 15th of the trial, accused Muzhir Rweid, a member of the Baath party in al-Dajil, denied during the hearing that he had submitted a document to the former minister of the interior Sadoun Shaker of the names of families, families who were detained and executed later.
Rweid ( 54 years old) stressed that he signed his statements taken from him in preliminary investigations while he did not have his eyeglasses and he suffer a weak eyesight, denying that the hand writing or the signature to be his.
He also denied his involvement in the execution cases saying "I am a simple citizen and I did not have anything to do with this," adding that he had defended several persons who were accused by the authorities of belonging to the Shiite al-Dawa party.
