Qintar criticizes Jumblat
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 3/13/2006
The longest held of the Lebanese prisoners the Israeli jails, Samir Qintar, harshly criticized Sunday statements by the Lebanese parliamentarian Walid Junblat in Washington against the Lebanese national resistance and the captives in the Israeli prisons.
"After Junblat staged a coup d'etat against all firm principles and started preparations for dividing Lebanon, we were never surprised by his stance regarding the captives' issue," Qintar said in a statement delivered by his lawyer.
He rejected any possible help by Junblat to liberate the Lebanese captives saying "after his latest stances such participation will not honor us."
On the other hand, Lebanese Parliamentarian Osama Saed called for ending the biased provocative policy followed by some Lebanese sides against Syria. "Protecting the national unity only comes by dropping the two polices of sectarian tension and provocation against Syria," Saed said in a statement.
The Lebanese MP underlined the necessity of establishing distinguished ties with Syria and implementing all items of the Fraternity, Cooperation and Coordination Treaty signed between the two states.
