Sudan deny rebel accusation on killings

The rebels of al-Adel Wal-Musawat movement in Darfur accused the Sudanese government forces and its allied militias of killing 27 persons and steeling cattle in attacks against villages in Darfur district.
Movement's chief negotiator Ahmad Taqad said in peace talks in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, the names of 6 villages in Jreida area in south Darfur which he said was attacked by Jangawid militias and forces.
He said that these villages were completely destroyed and 27 persons were killed and other 17 injured while 6 children were missing, adding that 150 cattle and 300 sheep were stolen.
However, a spokesman for the Sudanese army denied these accusations and described them as false. He said that the army and the people's defense force, backing it did not enter the region.
