Daily Star: Lebanese army seals Syrian border

The Lebanese Daily Star reported that "The Lebanese Army deployed troops along the mountain passageways linking Syria to Lebanon in the Upper Hermel, erecting permanent military points and closing all illegal crossings."
The Daily Star said that security forces were deployed in the northern Bekaa to thwart to block all smuggling between Lebanon and Syria and to close "illegal crossroads linking the two states."
The Daily Star said that "Lebanese authorities have been alarmed by an influx of arms from Syria to armed Palestinian militias in Lebanon, in particular Ahmad Jibril's Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, which maintains military basis in the Bekaa Valley and the Naameh area, south of Beirut."
