Minister calls US thinkers to correct concepts on Islam

Syria's Minister of Expatriates called on Thursday international institutions and thinkers to correct and deepen concepts on Arabs and Islam as well as respect peoples holy issues and energize initiatives that call to serious, meaningful and constructive dialogue.
Buthaina Shaaban told US Brookings Institute and US University delegation headed by professor Akbar Ahmad that "the world has to take into consideration what Israel is doing of holy sites destruction in Palestine and changing the Arab and Islamic history in the occupied Arab territories" noting that "these crimes are dedicating the sectarian logic in our region and warning of civil war looming."
"Syria has the components and heritage to make her an example of coexistence, tolerance and building confidence among civilizations and peoples. This is to establish the just peace based on the international legitimacy principals and laws," the Minister said.
For his part, Akbar expressed said that the US people do not have enough information on Islam and what it represents of values and knowledge.
He pointed out that the project of Islam and globalization he is working on aims at viewpoints rapprochement among civilizations and religions as well to build a more positive ties with Islamic countries and societies.
