Jordan, Local, 3/2/2006
The Jordanian authorities announced that its intelligence services were able on Wednesday to foil a "terrorist plan" prepared by al-Qaida organization to blow up one of the vital installations in the kingdom with the participation of persons of Iraqi, Libyan and Saudi nationalities.
The Jordanian official news agency, Petra, said that the authorities arrested one Libyan who was due to carry out a suicide operation targeting this installation, as well as two Iraqis who were presumed to give logistic backing for him.
The agency added that the security forces are still chasing one Saudi Arabian and three Iraqis who took part in the "planning and backing for implementing this criminal operation and are in one of the neighboring countries," but without naming this country.
The Jordanian official TV also broadcast photos for the detainees who are the Libyan Muhammad Saeed Gheith al-Darsi and the two Iraqis Mohsin Mazloum al-Lousi and Abdul Karim Khudeir Ibrahim al-Jumelili.
The TV indicated that the intelligence seized four kilograms of explosives, of the same quality used in the suicide operations in three hotels in Amman by the end of November 2005.
