45 Iraqis killed in attacks

Some 45 persons were killed at least during almost 36 past hours in Iraq as a result of a booby trapped car explosions and the fall of shells and blowing up of bombs.

The Iraqi ministry of interior said that 27 persons were killed and other 67 injured in a booby trapped car explosion at an Iraqi inspection point in the new Baghdad area southern east of Baghdad.

Three Iraqis were killed and other 10 injured in a bomb explosion in the downtown of a people's market in al-Bab al-Sharqi area in the downtown of Baghdad. Six civilians were killed as a result of a bomb explosions hidden under a car near al-Tahrir square in Baghdad.

In al-Mahmodeyah south of Baghdad, three Iraqis were killed when one mortar fell on their houses in that area. One woman was killed and one child was injured by one mortar shelling fell at al-Qadeseyah quarters in Baghdad.

Five trainees were killed in the police academy and other 11 injured when fire was opened at a vehicle carrying 50 of them south of Karkouk. In the same city two police cars were attacked and this resulted in killing three persons and injuring other 7, according to ministry of interior sources.

The same sources said that 4 persons were at least killed in fire launching operations in Baqouba and al-Kout.

On the other hand, the American army announced the death of one of its soldiers in a mission not related to fighting in Baghdad, noting that an investigations was opened to know the implications of the incident which took place on Wednesday.
