Egyptian actor Abu Baker Izzat dies at 75

Chairman of the Egyptian artists Ashraf Zaki said on Monday that actor Abu Baker Izzat died at 75 year old at one of Cairo's hospitals after he had a strong heart attack.

A funeral will be held for the late actor today in Mustafa Mahmoud Mosque in al-Muhandiseen quarters in Cairo.

Actor Izzat started his career with a private theatre and he worked with the band of the renowned Egyptian actor Abdul menem Madbouli and then with Foaud al-Muhandis and Shweikar in several plats which witnessed great turnout during the 1960s..

His last film "al-Mar'a Wal-Satour" with actress Nabila Obeid was a big success, produced by Saeed Marzouk in 1996; he received an award for his role in that film at Cairo International Film Festival.

The late actor took part in several Egyptian series including "Arabesque" by Jamal Abdul Hamid, which was costarred with Salah al-Sadaani and Suheir al-Murshidi. His last series was "Bint Afandina" with Ilham Shahin. It was seen in the recent Ramadan fasting month.
