More Iraqis were killed despite calls for erase down

Some 16 Iraqis were killed and other 45 injured in two attacks by mortars shelling against two quarters in Baghdad.

A source in the Iraqi ministry of interior said that six shelling fell at houses in Abu Dsheir area of the Shiite majority in al-Doura quarters, and this resulted as a first estimates in killing 8 persons while the two other shelling fell in al-Sedeyah quarters.

In Baqouba, two persons were killed and one woman from a Shiite family was injured when gunmen attacked their house in al-Haj Nasser village northwest of this city. The same city also witnessed an attack launched by gunmen against a group of boys while they were playing football in al-Mufarraq quarters which is inhabited by a mixed Shiite and Sunni people and this resulted in killing two of them and injuring many others.

In Musil to the north of Iraq, six policemen were injured in two attacks by machine guns in the center and east of the city.

In Hella city, five Iraqis were killed and other three injured when one bomb destroyed a small bus, in a garage for buses in this city, which is situated to the south of Baghdad.

To the south of Baghdad also one Iraqi police officer was killed and two other police men injured in a bomb explosions targeting their procession in al-Madaen area.

In Ramadi west of Baghdad, gunmen killed one general in the former Iraqi army called Musan al-Rawi while he was driving his car in the streets of this city.

In Basra, the police said that one explosion took place in a Shiite mosque in al-Assar area in the center of the city and this resulted in injuring three persons.

In another development, two American soldiers were killed in a bomb explosion targeting their vehicle when it was running in one of the roads west of the capital Baghdad.
