US targets Syria to achieve its interests in the region: Sudanese president's advisor
Syria-Lebanon-USA, Politics, 2/27/2006
Sudanese President's Advisor, Mustafa Osman Ismail, stressed that the US has a special agenda for the Middle East and wants to isolate Syria to force Syria "to abandon her national and pan-Arab stances."
Ismail told a news conference on Saturday in Beirut on the sidelines of his visit to Lebanon that the US doesn't want to reveal the truth behind the assassination of former Lebanese premier Rafiq al-Hariri. He also stressed importance of a strong relation between Syria and Lebanon, saying that any siege or sanctions on Syria will affect Lebanon.
