al-Arabia correspondent in Iraq killed in explosion

The Iraqi police announced today it found the body of three correspondents for al-Arabia TV channel including female correspondent Atwar Bahjat near Samara.
Al-Arabia satellite channel which broadcasts from Dubai confirmed today the news and also the assassination of the three journalists.
In Baghdad, the director of al-Arabia office Jawad al-Hattab said that the three journalists were killed near Samara, 95 km north of Baghdad, which they wanted to visit to cover the news of explosion that damaged the dome of the shrine of Imam Ali al-Hadi.
Program director in al-Arabia channel Nakhla al-Haj said that the channel lost contacts with Atwar and her colleagues on Wednesday after they had left the city.
The team which accompanied Atwar included photographers Adnan Abdullah, voice technicians Khaled Mohsin, who work for one of the private production companies.
The Iraqi police said that 47 persons were killed in the past 24 hours in various parts of Iraq amid fears of sectarian sedition after the blowing up of the dome of the shrine.
