Lahoud confers with Iranian foreign minister

The Iranian foreign minister ManoShaher Mutakki, currently in a visit to Lebanon accused Israel of working to destabilize Lebanon, stressing the importance of national unity in order to get out the current stalemate.
Mutakki told journalists after his meeting with the President Emil Lahoud that the "Israeli schemes is focused in this phase on creating seditions and unrest and on destabilizing Lebanon." Together with President Lahoud, the Iranian foreign minister condemned these "Israel evil projects as well as the schemes of countries which protect Israel outside this region."
For his part, President Lahoud called on the Lebanese to continue to be united and to refuse any foreign intervention. He accused foreign sides, but without naming them, of working to "cause chaos in Lebanon."
