Governor of Northern Darfur rejecting foreign intervention

JANA reported today that the governor of northern Darfur in Sudan, Uthman Yousif Kabar, affirmed that the Darfur issue could not be solved in isolation from the deep rooted society of Darfur, indicating the importance of the role of the collective reunion of the people of Darfur in achieving this solution.
The Sudanese News Agency reported the Governor declared in a press conference held in Niala on Sunday that the popular marches that took to the streets in the three Darfur Provinces had demonstrated the will of the people of Darfur to solve their differences through dialogue and not by arms or force He renewed the call to support the AU forces with all possible means in order to carry out their mission in the region perfectly, JANA noted.
The report said "The governor of northern Darfur stressed that the AU is the closest to the people of Darfur and to the people of Sudan in general since all of them are Africans sharing common values and traditions They are the most suitable because their presence doesn't create any tension."
