Egypt, Politics, 2/14/2006
NYTimes.com reported yesterday that the Egyptian authorities decided to delay local elections by two years with the government saying the delay is to implement more democracy, while others noted the reason being fear of the ruling party of great gain by the Muslim Brothers as was made in recent elections, and the unexpected weak showing of the ruling party.
