Jamal Mubarak calls for a constitutional amendment

The assistant secretary general of the national party and secretary of its policies, son of the Egyptian President Jamal Mubarak said on Sunday that Egypt's constitution is in need of either limited or expanded amendment.

During a celebration organized by the UNDP in collaboration with the Egyptian ministry of planning and local development on the occasion of publication of the human development report for 2005, Jamal Mubarak said "we, in the national party will seek a social dialogue on constitutional amendments," especially certain items concerning economic inclination and the question of women's membership at the parliament, adding that such a dialogue has already started in the Shoura council, the parliament and in the party.
