On the file of hostages in Iraq
Iraq, Local, 2/10/2006
The Kuwaiti TV al-Rai on Thursday evening broadcast a new video tape for the American hostage in Iraq, Jill Carol, in which she called for responding quickly to the demands set by her kidnappers.
The journalist in the Christian Science Monitor who was kidnapped on January 7th in Baghdad appeared wearing the veil and she talked in English. She said " I am Ok. Please just do what they want.. give them every thing they want as soon as possible."
The kidnappers who are members of "The Revenge Groups" demanded on January 17 the release of all women prisoners in the Iraqi jails. This is, however, the third times in which Jill Carol ( 28 year old) appears on Arab TV screens. In her first appearance after her kidnapping, her kidnappers gave a grace period of 72 hours to release the prisoners.
On Thursday, the American army said it is preparing to release a group of 450 prisoners in jails they supervise in Iraq. The American army did not explain if the group of prisoners include women. Last week the American army released 50 prisoners but they did not include any woman.
