Egyptian ferry owner proposes compensations, more bodies found

The owner company of "al-Salam 98" ferry which sank in the Red Sea proposed to give compensations for the families of some 1000 persons killed or missing, as well as the survivals.
The official in al-Salam company for sea transport Muhammad Helmi said that the company gives 26,000 dollars for each family, while compensation allocated for the survivals depend on the nature of the damage.
The company also proposes a life long aid for the youngest survivals Muhammad Ahmad Hassan (6 year old) who lost all his family member. Helmi said that search operations are continuous.
The company published the number of the survivors on its site on the Internet. They are 424 survivals among 1415 persons that were on the board of the ferry which sank on Friday at dawn while it was on its way from the Saudi Daba port to the Egyptian Safaga port.
He Egyptian Middle East news Agency said that the employees in the ministry of finance offered a one day's worth of salary ($348,000) to the victims.
The Egyptian president said he will donate for each family of the victims $5200 and for each survivor half of this sum.
However, the families are still angry over the reaction of the Egyptian authorities with this catastrophe. Rose al-Youssef magazine said that some of the families received bodies that are not of their relatives.
