More Israeli bombardment, threats
Palestine-Israel, Military, 2/8/2006
One young Palestinian (15 year old) was injured as he was hit by an Israeli artillery shelling north of Gaza.
Palestinian security sources stressed that the Israeli artillery bombarded on Tuesday of the two areas of east Gaza and Beit Lahia, north of Gaza, caused damages in several houses and a position for the Palestinian security.
Earlier, three Qassam missiles fell on Israeli targets near Gaza but no casualties were reported. Israeli military sources said that one of the missiles fell at a house in Sdeirout and inflected damages.
Al-Aqsa martyrs groups of the Palestine national liberation movement (Fatah ), and al-Quds groups, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for launching these missiles in two separate statements. They said these "come as a retaliation to the Israeli crimes against leaders and members of both al-Aqsa groups and the Islamic Jihad."
For his part, the Israeli defense minister Shaoul Mofaz told the Israeli military radio that Israel will continue assassination acts against activists of the Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa martyrs groups "as far as this is necessary against organizations which dare to undermine the security of the citizens of Israel."
