Joint political understanding between Nasrullah, Aoun

The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah and the leader of the Free National Trend, Michael Aoun, reached a document of understanding between the two sides following unprecedented meeting between the two leaders in Mar Michael church in al-Shayah area in the southern district of Beirut.

The document states stressing that dialogue among the Lebanese is the only way to solve the crisis. It indicated that reforming the elections law and embarking on equal opportunities standards among all Lebanese national strata.

The document also called for establishing diplomatic relations between Lebanon and Syria based in equality, mutual respect, and Lebanon to take all measures for asserting the Lebanese identity of Shabaa Farms area.

The document considered that dealing with the Palestinian file requires the Palestinians honoring Lebanese laws, rejection their settlement in Lebanon. The document also called on the Lebanese who are in Israel to return back home.

In a joint press conference with the secretary general of Hizbullah, Maj. Aoun called for cooperation and the exchange of views for reaching solutions to all matters in Lebanon.

For his part, Hassan Nasrullah denied that his meeting with Aoun is addressed against any one side, noting that this issue was overdue, and there was care this will furnish for cooperation between the Free National Trend and Hizbullah based on a vision and an attitude.

He said that this meeting is but an invitation for all Lebanese sides to sit and maintain understanding away from negating the other and neglecting any basic Lebanese social strata in this country.
