Body of al-Fahoum is buried in Damascus

The body of former Head of the Palestinian National Council (PNC) Khaled al-Fahoum was buried in Damascus on Monday in a funeral attended by several Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese figures.
President Bashar al-Assad was represented in the ceremony by Minister of Presidential Affairs Ghassan Laham.
The body of late Fahoum, one of the PLO founders, was carried from his house in Dummar, near Damascus to the cemetery of Dahdah where he was laid to his final rest.
Head of the PNC, Salim Zaanoun, delivered a speech in the funeral ceremony, paying tribute to the late Fahoum and his relentless effort for the Palestinian national unity and his struggle as one of PLO earlier founders as well as his work for the inalienable legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in an independent state with Jerusalem as capital.
The funeral was attended also by members of the Regional Palestinian Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, several leaders of Palestinian resistance factions along with Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian personalities.
