Nassrallah Meets With American Council for National Interest Delegation
Lebanon-USA, Politics, 2/6/2006

Hizbollah Secretary General Hassan Nassrallah discussed with the American Council For National Interest (CNI) (www.cnionline.org) headed by its President Eugene H. Bird recent development in the Middle East and the US policies towards the region.

"Mr. Nassralah has honestly talked and clarified his point of view regarding situations in the region. I will covey what I've heard from him to the American people, and it will be so effective and important as well," Lebanese National Agency quoted Bird as saying.

Paul Findley, CNI Founding Chairman had previously noted "The United States provides the support without which Israel could not maintain its repression of human rights and its territorial expansion. This collusive relationship severely damages the US influence and credibility worldwide. It has led our government into a disgraceful practice of turning a blind eye to Israeli violations of both international and US law, a habit widely noted by foreign leaders."

Bird underlined that the US policy in the region aims at realizing two goals which are protecting Israel and dominating oil resources, noting "its necessary for the US to follow a course of dialogue and cooperation with Mideast peoples."

"We in the US don't agree with the our country's foreign policy which brands some resistance movements in the region as terrorist," he added.
