Israel, Hizbullah exchange bombardment in Shebaa farms

News reports in Beirut said that the Israeli forces started artillery bombardment of Kafer Shouba village and the neighboring villages after Hizbullah fighters fired one missile at a site for the Israeli occupation army in Shebaa farms.

The Israeli bombardment resulted in injuring one Lebanese woman and damages to several houses in al-Habareyah and al-Kheyam and in al-Habareyah elementary school. One house in Kafer Shouba was directly hit.

UNIFIL said that the two sides stopped fire in response to contacts the UN forces made between the two sides.

The news said that Hizbullah issued a statement in which it said that the Lebanese resistance targeted in the bombardment Rweisat al-Alam area, the same area where the Lebanese shepherd was killed two days ago.

For its part, the Lebanese police said that the forces of Hizbullah used artillery shelling and Katyusha missiles against the Israeli positions in Rweisat al-Alam on the border between Lebanon, Syria and Israel.

This escalation comes one day after UNIFIL forces found the body of one Lebanese shepherd near an earlier position for the Israeli forces in al-Saba' Bayara area in south Lebanon.

Investigations carried out by UNIFIL in south Lebanon said that the Lebanese shepherd Ibrahim Youssef was killed during his presence on the Lebanese side of the border with Israel.

Hizbullah had threatened to retaliate if it is found out that Youssef, on whom it said the Israeli forces opened fire at is, killed. The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbullah party Hassan Nasrullah threatened on Wednesday that "if it is found out that the Lebanese civilians was killed in Shabaa Farms, the Islamic resistance will punish its killers without hesitation and will not wait for a permission from anyone."
