Continued American losses in Iraq

The US army announced that five of its soldiers were killed in three different attacks on Thursday in Baghdad and Falluja.
Three American soldiers from the first contingent of the coalition forces were killed in a roadside bomb. A fourth American soldier was killed in a separate attack west of Baghdad after he was exposed to fire from light weapons. One soldier from the naval forces died because of wounds he had earlier in clashes in Falluja, west of Baghdad.
On the other hand, the Iraqi army announced the detention of 11 Syrians accused of preparing for attacks in an operation in Tamim area in Ramadi. The Iraqi army said that the said Syrians surrendered themselves to the Iraqi forces which detained also four Iraqis in the operation which was carried out in collaboration with the American forces.
