Syria, Iraq and Turkey to activate new air- corridors

A coordinative meeting among representatives from the Civil Aviation Establishment in Syria, International Civil Aviation Organization ICAO and International Air Transport Association IATA held talks on activating modern air-corridors between Syria, Iraq and Turkey.
The meeting on Thursday called for reviving the agreement of air movement services among the three countries' control towers in a way to reuse the space for more effective air routes as from May 30, 2006.
Reactivation of the said air-corridors will save approximately 8 milliondollars for the companies which will use those routes through shortening time, decreasing costs of time and fuel as well as facilitating the flow of air movement.
