Saudi King in Pakistan talks trade, terrorism, regional issues

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah started his visit to Pakistan on Wednesday by meeting with the Pakistani President B. Musharraf who is linked to solid relations with the kingdom.

Discussions dealt with the files of Iraq and Afghanistan and the Middle East peace process in light of results of the Palestinian legislative elections as well as the Iranian file and war against terrorism.

At a dinner banquet, Musharraf and King Abdullah stressed commitment to strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between their two countries. Musharaf commended King Abdullah over his strong commitment to work in solving the issue of Kashmir.

Musharraf invested King Abdullah "with the order of excellence," the highest order of merit in Pakistan, as an appreciation for his great role in enhancing and developing Saudi- Pakistani relations and his stand concerning damaged persons of the Southern Asia earthquake.

It is expected that the Pakistani President and King Abdullah to monitor during this visit which lasts for four days, the signing of four agreements on political consultation and cooperation in the field of sciences and technology, avoiding double taxation and cooperation in the field of technical and industrial education.

On Tuesday, King Abdullah concluded a visit to Malaysia during which the two countries signed agreements in the fields of higher education, avoiding double taxation and technical cooperation. the two countries companied signed trade agreements of a value exceeding 800 million dollars.
