Justice Minister: Syria is careful that truth be revealed in Hariri assassination

Syria's Minister of Justice Mohammad al-Ghafri stressed that Syria is careful that truth in the assassination of former Premier Rafiq Hariri be revealed, adding it is unfair to implicate Syria in the crime.

Ghafri, addressing the opening session of the of Arab Interior Ministers meeting in Tunis overnight, said Syria has been cooperating with the international investigation committee on the basis of its respect to the international resolutions but some circles attempted to politicize the crime against Syria.

He added that Syria is keen to divulge the truth with the cooperation of the committee on the basis of respecting the national sovereignty.

The Minister said the meeting of the Arab Interior Ministers Council is held under very delicate regional and international circumstances that require us to exert double efforts to face up to various security incidents and confront their consequences.

He asserted that "security coordination among Arab states is the main pillar in building Arab solidarity as main introduction to fight terrorism as represented by Israel's state terrorism and other forms of terrorism."

Ghafri said Syria was the first country to call for an international conference to differentiate between terrorism and the right of peoples to resist occupation.
