Al-Assad receives chief of Russian general staff
Syria-Russia, Political Meeting, 2/1/2006
Syria's President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday discussed with Chief of the Russian General Staff General Yuri N. Baluyevsky and the accompanying delegation the historic relations of cooperation between Syria and Russia and armies and means to further enhance and develop these relations.
Talks also dealt with the latest regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by Syrian Chief of General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Lieut. Gen. Ali Habib and the Russian ambassador in Damascus Robert Markaryan.
