Nazif: Improving salaries, expanding social insurance, top priorities

Egypt's Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif tole the parliament the "social dimension, improving people's income, low-income brackets and expanding the umbrella of social insurance top the government's priorities in the coming period,"
A government report quoted the priority as:
I: Creating job opportunities and encouraging young people to establish small-scale projects.
II: Encouraging investments in the different sectors and encouraging the private sector to participate in implementing and managing the infrastructure and service projects.
III: Increasing civil servants' salaries by 75-100 per cent and expanding the umbrella of the social insurances.
V: Upgrading the level of services, especially in the fields of education, health, transport and housing.
VI: Introducing legislative reforms to help push forward economic development and modernize the banking system.
VII: Developing the political and legislative atmosphere to cope with the country's economic reforms.
VIII: Continuing efforts to boost Egypt's stance on the Arab and international arenas.
