Saudi King in Malaysia

Saudi Arabia's king Abdullah arrived in Malaysia on Monday in a visit which is the first of its kind in 36 years with objectives concentrating on trade and oil as well as means of reform of the Islamic world.
King Abdulla,h who won a royal welcome at the headquarters of the Malaysian parliament, will hold talks with the Malaysian prime minister who is the chairman of the Islamic Conference Organization Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the foreign minister Sayed Hamid al-Bar said will deal with "political issues pertaining to the Islamic world" and "the question of the increase in oil prices," will be discussed.
In an attempt to expand trade bilateral relations, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia will sign bilateral agreements to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation and avoiding double taxation. The Saudi king will also deliver a speech before a business forum today.
The visit of the Saudi king to Malaysia comes in the course of his Asian tour which he had started in China through India before he concluded it tomorrow in Pakistan, where he is due to discuss with the officials there the new security scenarios in the Middle East following the Palestinian elections and under the standing controversy about the Iranian nuclear issue.
Before heading for Malaysia, the Saudi king said during his welcome in his residence in Hong Kong with members of the accompanying delegations and Saudi papers editors in chiefs "we have worked during the past days to achieve much for our countries and people in the context of partnership with friends and sharing all forms of benefits."
