Iraq-UK, Politics, 1/31/2006

The British defense office announced the killing of one British soldier on Monday in an attack targeting a vehicle in Meisan governorate south of Iraq. Thereby, number of persons killed among the British forces in Iraq reached about 100 since the invasion of Iraq.

Some 8,000 British soldiers are stationed in Iraq with the majority of them are deployed in Basra. This, however, makes the British forces the largest second force in Iraq after the American army.
