Scores of Iraqis, two American soldiers were killed in various attacks in Iraq

In a statement, the American army in Iraq announced the killing of two American soldiers on Sunday in a bomb explosion placed on the roadside on one of the roads in Baghdad, at a time when the country witnessed a bloody Sunday in which scores were killed or injured in a series of attacks including explosions targeted churches.

The Iraqi police said that three persons were killed and other 17 injured in seven explosions targeted churches in Baghdad and Karkouk, six of them were in booby trapped cars and the seventh was in a bomb explosion.

A source at the Iraqi ministry of interior asked to be unanimous said that four booby trapped car went off bear churches distributed in al-Jarradah area ( east of Baghdad), noting that the four explosions resulted in injuring 6 civilians,."

One bomb went off near Mar Youssef Church in al-Bonouk (banks) area east of the city but no casualties were reported, according to a source in the Iraqi police.

The commander of Karkouk police Col. Burhan Habib said that "three civilians were killed and other 11 were injured in two booby trapped cars explosions in Karkouk."
