Syrian chief of staff meets Russian counterpart

Chief of staff of Syria's armed forces Gen. Ali Habib received Sunday Russian counterpart Gen. Yuri Baluyevsky and an accompanying delegation.

Both sides exchanged viewpoints on ways of enhancing and developing cooperation and friendship relations between the two friendly armies as well as issues of mutual interest.

Earlier, Gen. Baluyevsky and an accompanying delegation paid a visit to the Martyr Memorial Monument in Qassiuon Mountain where he laid a wreath on the monument.

Chief of Staff of Russian Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation arrived in Damascus yesterday evening. He was received at Damascus International Airport by Gen. Ali Habib and a number of high-ranking officers.
