Riyadh considers concern over Hamas win unjustified
Saudi Arabia-Palestine, Politics, 1/28/2006
Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the USA prince Turkey al-Faisal on Friday expressed his conviction that the winning of the Hamas movement in the Palestinian legislative elections should not raise concern.
Al-Faisal told CNN in the world economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland "I find that Hamas winning of these elections should not raise any concern in the Arab states capitals or in the capitals of other countries, as far as the international community abides by its obligations represented in solving the Israeli- Palestinian conflict on the ground of two countries living side by side."
Al-Faisal stressed that the Palestinian- Israeli conflict is the main reason for the most of cases of instability and terrorism in the world.
He said that "certain terrorism organizations are making use of this conflict as a pretext not only to justify its acts, but also to recruit supporters and get support from all parts of the world."
