Siniora congratulates Mashaal on Hamas win of Palestinian elections

The Lebanese prime minister Fouad Siniora on Friday evening made a telephone call with the chairman of the Hamas Movement political bureau Khaled Mashaal in which he congratulated him on the win by Hamas in the Palestinian elections "for the significance of this step in consolidating the democratic system in the lands of the Palestinian authority and its impact on the Palestinian people."
The Lebanese premier hoped during the telephone call that this result "will be an advanced step forward in support of the Palestinian people." During the telephone call between the two sides the two sides reviewed Lebanese- Palestinian relations.
They also discussed the points already debated by the Lebanese government on dialogue with the Palestinian side and agreed to complete discussions in the near future.
