Tourist hotels investment in Syria

Total tourism investment projects in Syria have reached about SP 27 billion more than half a million Dollars that will be used in 12 tourism projects including a large hotel building in Damascus, SANA reported recently.

The report noted the total figure covers projects distributed in seven Syrian governorates in Damascus, the south, Damascus countryside, Aleppo in the north, Lattakia and Tartous on the coast, Raqqa northeast and Daraa in the south.

The reporter said a contract was inked with the Kuwaiti company of Mohammed al-Khourafi and the administration of Intercontinental Hotels to build the biggest-tourism hotel-project in Damascus that includes 900 beds with expenses getting at about $243 million included in projects of the tourism investment market in the seven governorates.

A hotel project was established two days before in Aleppo for the private Kahala group where contributors are from Syria, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

It is to build five, four and three stars hotels with the coast of $140 million and capacity of about 900 beds, the report said.
