Dardari opens Audi Bank main branch in Syria

Syria's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Abdallah Dardari opened yesterday the main branch and headquarters of Audi Bank in Damascus.
In a statement to reporters Dardari said that this was an important step in the framework of the economic reform in general and the development of the financial and banking system in Syria in particular.
He pointed out that the activities of Audi Bank that have already started several months ago reflect its proficiency and that the Syrian market is ready for an advanced banking activity.
He indicated that the presence of such banks in Syria would lead to the development of the public banking sector and financing of trade and investment on the road to the economy of the social market.
He pointed out that the number of private banks in Syria is increasing particularly that Islamic banks have begun to obtain licenses to open in Syria.
Around a hundred employees are running Audi Bank whose founding capital is $ 50 million.
