Spanish Senate Speaker calls for good relations with Syria

Speaker of the Spanish Senate Francisco Javier Rojo Garcia called for enhancing existing Spanish-Syrian relations, particularly in the parliamentary field.
Mr. Garcia told SANA shortly before leaving Damascus at the conclusion of a three-day visit to Syria that his country supported the establishment of peace and stability in the region. Speaker of the Syrian Peoples Assembly Mahmoud al-Abrash, who saw off Garcia, called for standing by Syria in its efforts to bring about the just and comprehensive peace in the region, and for an active European Union to consolidate cooperation with Syria and help create stability and security in the region.
