22 Iraqis killed, 26 injured in explosions
Iraq, Military, 1/20/2006
At least 22 persons were killed and 26 injured as a result of two explosions in Baghdad on Thursday, when one suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt detonated himself in a coffee shop in al-Batawin in the center of the city.
The act was followed minutes later in the same region by a booby trapped car explosion that was parked on the roadside when a police vehicle was running and three members of the vehicle were killed as a result.
This operation also comes at a time when the Iraqi police said it found 12 bodies for civilians from al-Dajil city, north of Baghdad.
The Iraqi government, on the other hand, announced that three gunmen were killed in confrontations after an attack at an inspection point for the army, west of Baghdad.
