Iran talks to Algerian officials about nuclear rights
Iran-Regional, Politics, 1/16/2006

The Iranian government and nation will not give up their legal right to the peaceful use of nuclear energy, Vice-President for Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Ahmad Moussavi said yesterday.

IRNA reported Moussavi, after talks with Algerian official about Iran's position, saying "Iran has the inalienable and legal right to access nuclear technology and produce nuclear energy under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and with the supervision of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors."

He said: "There is no doubt Iran's nuclear activities are totally peaceful and within the framework of international laws and regulations after its extensive cooperation with the agency in the past two-and-a-half years and the repeated inspections of our nuclear sites."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its cooperation with the agency and will not abandon its legal right to have access to peaceful nuclear technology," he added.
