Morocco's Equity and Reconciliation Panel praized

France welcomed the publication of the final report of the Equity and Reconciliation Panel. Established at the initiative of the highest Moroccan authorities. It said "the IER has done a remarkable job gathering information and talking to people, and gives a complete picture of human rights violations since independence. Launched by the king exactly two years ago, this process of truth, reconciliation and reparation for the victims is an important contribution to strengthening democracy in Morocco and provides a basis for the continuation of the policy of reform and development begun by the government."
