Al-Qaida's Zawahiri says US has been defeated in Iraq
Regional, Politics, 1/7/2006
The second highest ranking man in al-Qaida organization, Ayman al-Zawahiri, congratulated the Islamic Ummah (nation) on what he called the victory of Islam in Iraq, citing the announcement made by the US President George W. Bush on November 2005 on his determination to withdraw his forces from Iraq.
In a televised tape, Zawahiri said that Bush was obliged under the strikes of the "Mujahideen" fighters in Iraq to announce his intention to withdraw his forces from Iraq and to lay a schedule for this withdrawal.
Al-Zawahiri ridiculed the justification given by Bush for his decision to withdraw as based on the readiness of the Iraqi forces to assume their role, stressing that the Iraqi government forces cannot face the attacks of the "Mujahideen" fighters which the planes and missiles of what is called the "superpower in the world" could not stop.
Zawahiri threatened what he called America's followers in Iraq of Muslims and Arabs of a hard accountancy at the hand of the Mujahideen fighters, stressing that the time of accountability is fast approaching as soon as the American forces leave the country.
He also warned the alliances of America and Britain to withdraw their forces from the lands of the Islamic countries and to stop supporting corrupted rulers, warning them of facing catastrophes made by the Mujahideen from the people of the nation, as he alleged.
The second man in al-Qaida organization launched a criticized the American civilization which he said had proved to the world as built on lying, deception, contradiction, repressing freedoms and violating rights, noting to statements made in recent months by the US Secretary Of State Condaliza Rice on the intention of her country's administration to transfer some of the detainees to secret prisons, and special measures with the detainees to force them to give as much information as possible.
Zawahiri also criticized what he called the American silence over what the presidential and legislative elections witnessed in Egypt of "fraud" stressing that America will not permit the people of the Islamic nation to enjoy full freedom "except after they abandon their religion and become secular and accept the Zionist presence and the foreign forces on their lands and of plundering their resources and Jewish owning of nuclear weapons tabooed for Muslims."
He stressed that "there is no way that Muslims can get their freedom and sovereignty except through fighting.
