Iraq, Politics, 1/7/2006
Iraqi medical and security sources on Friday announced the killing of one Iraqi and injuring of 14 including 8 police members in two booby trapped cars explosions targeting police vehicles in Baghdad and Musil.
In another development, the Iraqi police said it found 10 bodies dead from bullets, eye covered and hands roped, in al-Roustemeyah area in south Baghdad.
The people of Baghdad and Ramadi eulogized west of Baghdad and Karbala the persons killed in the series of bloody attacks which took place on Thursday.
The funeral of Karbala killed persons was converted into angry demonstrations for the Shiite in which the eulogizers called for punishing the executors. Senior Shiite men of religion deplored the attacks but urged their followers not to retaliate.
Hundreds of the Iraqi Shiites demonstrated, after Friday's prayers in Baghdad in protest of the return of the wave of violence which Iraq has been experiencing since several days, holding the USA and Sunni political forces responsible for that.
These attacks came while the Iraqis were celebrating on Friday the 85th anniversary of founding the Iraqi army, at a time when the Iraqi government is trying to build a new army after the former Iraqi army was solved by a decision by the former American administrator of Iraq Paul Bremer.
