Relations with Syria should be back to normal, Lebanese official
Lebanon-Syria, Politics, 1/5/2006
Chairman of Lebanese Popular Conference, Kamal Shatila, underlined Tuesday the importance of launching an Arab initiative to find a solution for the situation in Lebanon, and to prepare a Lebanese effort to restore the Syrian-Lebanese relations back to normal.
Damaging the Syrian-Lebanese relations makes the Israelis, as well as others, use this condition to increase interference in the Lebanese internal affairs, a matter that threatens the country's security and stability, Shatila said in a statement following a meeting with Lebanese President Emile Lahoud. He called for activating agreements singed between both states in all fields, particularly in security affairs.
