Gunmen kidnap Iraqi minister of interior's sister
Iraq, Military, 1/4/2006
Armed men on Tuesday kidnapped the sister of the Iraqi minister of interior Bayan Jaber Soulagh while 8 Iraqis from one family were killed including women and children in an American air raid against Beji town.
Armed men kidnapped the sister in al-Qadeseyah quarters in west Baghdad after they killed the driver of the bus she was riding and one guard in another car in the same procession.
Worthy mentioning that al-Qadeseyah quarters which borders the so-called Green Zone in the center of Baghdad and overlooks the Tigris river includes a residential complex for the house of the ministers of the toppled Iraqi regime and has been also used as a residence for the new senior Iraqi officials.
This incident comes three months after the kidnapping of Jaber while he was on his way to his work in a hospital near al-Sader city when he was seized for one night before his release after the interference of the Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sader.
