More detention in Iraq, breaking in

The Iraqi army said on Tuesday it detained more than 70 persons suspected to be members in the gunmen network in Baqouba city.

Backed by the American forces, the Iraqi forces broke into al-Madina city, southeast of Baqouba, and launched an inspection campaign in houses in search for weapons, and detained at least four persons suspected to be gunmen.

On the other hand, the secretary general of the National Front For Iraq's Intellectuals, Sattam al-Kaoud, told al-Jazeera satellite TV in Amman that his release by the American forces is like getting out of a small prison into a big prison, because the ground that his country is still occupied.

Al-Kaoud said that his release by the American forces is an introduction to release 22 members of the former Iraqi regime within the coming days.
