Hundreds of attacks in Iraq in one week

One Iraqi security source announced the occurrence of 420 armed attacks in all parts in Iraq during last week including 69 attacks against civilians, all of them resulted in killing or wounding 207 persons.

The director of the operations room at the Iraqi defense ministry lt. gen. Abdul Aziz Muhammad said in a press conference that among these attacks are 177 that resulted in human and material losses and 45 attacks targeted the multinational forces and 59 attacks the Iraqi security forces.

A calculation for the Iraqi ministry of defense said that 5713 Iraqis were killed in 2005 including 4020 civilians against 1693 from the security forces.
