Six Iraqis killed, mosque worshipers targeted

Six Iraqis were killed in Baghdad and its suburbs in attacks, with one of them targeting worshippers in a Sunni mosque south of Baghdad, and this resulted in killing two worshippers and injuring other five.

A security source explained that unidentified persons opened their fire at HuzeifahMmosque south of Baghdad during dinner prayer. Two persons were also killed by fire from unidentified persons in Hueein in the outskirts Baghdad.

The same source reported that unidentified men assassinated in al-Mahmodeyah, south of Baghdad, a clergymen from Muqtada al-Sader trend, while the Assure Democratic Movement (Christian) announced that one of its members was killed in south Baghdad.

In Musil city, north of Iraq, one police man was killed and other two injured in two separate attacks. One civilian was also killed and other four injured in a Kurdish demonstration in the downtown of Karkouk city, 255 km to the north of Baghdad, in protest over the shortage of fuels. The demonstration also resulted in the burning of two fuel stations and one office for the distribution of oil products.

The son of the Palestinian cultural attache in Palestine embassy in Baghdad was also killed by the bullets of unknown persons west of Baghdad, according to the Palestinian ministry of interior, quoting the Palestinian embassy in Baghdad.

One Iraqi soldier was killed and other three injured by a bomb explosions in al-Ishaqi area north of Baghdad. On Sunday, Baghdad witnessed 13 booby trapped car explosions results in injuring more than 20 Iraqis, including two policemen.

In another development, the American forces on Monday detained Ateyah Shandakh al-Jabouri, a former official in the Baath party and three of his children in the villages of al-Hweijeh area, situated west of Karkouk.
