On the killing of two American pilots in Iraq
Iraq-USA, Military, 12/28/2005
The American forces in Iraq denied that the reason behind the killing of two American pilots in Iraq on Monday evening was an armed operation, stressing that the two pilots were killed when their helicopter (type Apache 64) collided in the air with another Apache, west of the Iraqi capital.
Officials at the Pentagon said that the second helicopter landed in al-Taji base north of Baghdad and the officials did not specify if weather conditions were an element to that, and confined to saying that "there was no enemy fire." The two Engine American Apache which carries a two member crew is the basic striking helicopter in the American army.
In Washington, the White House announced that it honors the decision of the Ukraine and Bulgarian forces to withdraw from Iraq and Poland's decision to remain in it until the end of next year.
